Workspace Overview
When you log in to Omnix, your workspace is divided into zones based on your role. This page explains the layout and what's available to each role.
The Sidebar
The left sidebar is your primary navigation. What you see depends on your role:
| Section | Available to | What it contains |
|---|---|---|
| Dashboard | All roles | Summary metrics, activity feed |
| Inbox | Agents (User) | Unified inbox for all conversations |
| Contacts | Agents, Managers | Contact CRM and search |
| Tickets | Agents, Managers | Open and resolved support tickets |
| Templates | Managers | Message template library |
| Audiences | Managers | Contact segments |
| Campaigns | Managers | Outbound campaign management |
| Admin | Admins only | Channels, users, agents, billing, API keys |
Dashboard
Your dashboard is the first thing you see after login. It shows:
- Recent conversations — latest activity across your inbox
- Active campaigns — status of running campaigns
- Team performance metrics — response times, conversation volumes (manager and admin views)
- AI agent activity — ongoing automated conversations
Widgets are role-specific — agents see their personal queue, managers see team-wide stats, admins see the system overview.
The Unified Inbox
The inbox is the primary workspace for agents. It shows all conversations from every connected channel in a single, chronological view.
Key elements:
- Conversation list (left panel) — filterable by channel, status, assignee, and tag
- Conversation timeline (center) — full message history with the customer
- Contact panel (right) — contact profile, open tickets, notes, and conversation metadata
See The Unified Inbox for the full guide.
Roles Explained
Omnix has three roles that inherit from each other:
Admin
└─ inherits → Manager
└─ inherits → User (Agent)| Role | What they can do |
|---|---|
| User (Agent) | Handle conversations, manage contacts, create tickets, use the AI assistant |
| Manager | Everything a user can do, plus campaigns, workflows, audience management, and team dashboards |
| Admin | Everything a manager can do, plus channel setup, user management, billing, branding, and API keys |
Your role is assigned by an admin when you're invited. Admins can change roles in Admin → Manage Users.
