Connect SMS & Voice Numbers
Connect your phone numbers using Twilio to send and receive text messages and route incoming calls directly to your agents or IVR menus.
1. Connect Twilio Credentials
Before importing phone numbers, link your Twilio account details:
- Go to Settings → Channels → Twilio Configuration.
- Enter your Account SID and Auth Token (available in your Twilio Console dashboard).
- Click Save & Verify. Omnix will check the credentials against the Twilio API.
2. Buying or Renting Phone Numbers
Once connected, you can buy or port phone numbers directly inside Omnix:
- Browse Numbers: Go to Settings → Phone Numbers → Buy Number. Select your country and search by area code or text string.
- Renting: Click Buy next to a phone number. The monthly charge will be billed to your connected payment card.
3. Configuring Services
Click Edit next to any phone number in your list to configure how it behaves:
Messaging Configuration
Toggle whether this number should accept SMS/MMS messages, and configure where incoming texts are routed (e.g., to the Support queue).
Voice Configuration
Choose what happens when a customer calls this phone number:
- Play Audio: Play an audio message (e.g.
Our offices are closed.) and hang up. - Route to Agent/Queue: Ring the extension of an agent or call team pool.
- Interactive Voice Response (IVR): Send the caller to an interactive voice menu (e.g.,
Press 1 for Sales, 2 for Support).
